Aren't we always looking for new burger recipes??? We tried this one and loved it. The mushrooms are chopped finely, so if you're kids don't like them, they won't even notice:) This is also a great way to stretch a budget, it makes 8 burgers with only 1 lb. of beef. For a gluten free/dairy free option just wrap the burger in a piece of iceberg lettuce!
1 1/4 cups small mushrooms
1 small onion, chopped
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup whole-wheat bread crumbs (or gluten free bread crumbs)
1 tsp. dried mixed herbs
1 T tomato paste
salt and pepper
Put the mushrooms and onion in a food processor until finely chopped. Pour into a bowl, and add all other ingredients.
Shape into 8 patties. Can cook in a frying pan, under the broiler, or on the grill about 12-15minutes turning once!
